CAS CIT

Certificate of Advanced Studied in Consecutive Interpreter Training - CAS CIT

Objectives:

In the CAS in Consecutive Interpreter Training participants acquire the fundamental skillset required to successfully train consecutive interpreters.

Audience:

The CAS in Consecutive Interpreter Training is geared towards professional interpreters wanting to develop a comprehensive understanding of the consecutive interpreting process in order to train the next generation of consecutive interpreters using systematic teaching methods.

Programme:

The CAS in Consecutive Interpreter Training consists of three thematic modules taught entirely online. It foresees a solid grounding in the skill-and-task analysis for consecutive interpreting, covers the sequencing of training materials based on an incremental approach and focuses on the diagnosis of recurring problems including the development of targeted solutions. Seeing the intended objective, which is to train court, medical, public service but also diplomatic interpreters, the certificate course does not comprise the development and teaching of a comprehensive note-taking system (see DAS in Interpreter Training).
