LaborInt, the Interpreting Department's experimental laboratory,  is located on the 6th floor of UNIMAIL, 40 Bd du Pont d'Arve, in room 6353. To access the lab, please use on of the 4 elevators to the 6th floor and use the floor plan (available at each elevator exit) to locate the lab. Please do not enter the lab before your scheduled appointment as other experiments might be underway.

About our experiments:

  • Participants

We carry out experiments with interpreters, translators, untrained bilinguals as well as untrained monolinguals. Please carefully read the description to see if you fit the profile – participants who do not fulfill all selection criteria will have to be excluded from the experiment and will not be remunerated.

  • Remuneration

While participation in our experiments is entirely voluntary and not remunerated, there is a (computer-generated) prize draw for each experiment. Cash prizes range from CHF 50 to CHF 250 depending on the length of the experimental session and will be paid out at the end of each experiment.

  • Consent

All participants in our experiments participate out of their own free will. If you choose to participate in an experiment, you will be asked to sign an informed consent form with a detailed description of your rights.

  • Signing up

To sign up for an experiment, please click on the link next to the description. Please note that any and all changes to your schedule need to be made with a minimum of 12 hours notice.
